Hi there, I’m Kathryn

Hi, I’m Kathryn O’Riordan and I’m an English language coach from Ireland.

 

After spending almost 20 years in the corporate and software world as a Quality Assurance specialist, I wanted a career change that was more people orientated.

When I met my husband in Australia and we decided to move back to France, I knew this was an opportunity to completely change my career, so I retrained to be an English language teacher and obtained my CELTA diploma (Certificate in English Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages).

I’ll be honest. I didn’t know if I would really like this career change, but it turns out I loved it from day one. Teaching language is very satisfying. I love seeing my students progress and gain in confidence. Learning a language opens up a new world of opportunities, and some of my students have since moved to the USA, started studying in Ireland and the UK and have obtained great jobs in their country because of their improvements in their English.

 

I have worked in language schools, and universities and recently (because of COVID) I have worked with many students from all around the world via the internet. 

 

However, I have noticed that most of my students need more practice speaking and they crave the ability to understand native speakers and also to be able to speak like native speakers themselves. This is why I have created the Fluency with Kathryn membership program that incorporates both of these skills.
